On July 5, the meeting was held through which the Project “Cross-Border Innovation Network in Early Diagnosis of Leukemia for Healthy Aging” (IDIAL-NET) began.
This project is funded by the EP-INTERREG V A España Portugal (POCTEP) program and will be coordinated by the Cancer Research Foundation of the University of Salamanca (FICUS), its principal investigator is Professor Alberto Orfao. The project also includes health institutions (DGSP-JCyL), companies (Immunostep, Cytognos) and biotechnology centers (CARTIF) in Castile and Leon, as well as research institutions (University of Coimbra), health administrations (ARS) and companies (Infogene ) from the Central Portugal region.
The IDIAL-NET project has as its main objective the creation of a multidisciplinary network in the area of population-based medicine, for the promotion of healthy aging through the prevention of the development of leukemia.
The main areas of action, which will be launched from this meeting, are:
- Promoting the integration of research and development capacities in the area of leukemia in the adult and aging population in these regions.
- Generation of a Multidisciplinary Training and Mobility program in the area of cancer prevention and its associated morbidities.
- Valorisation of innovation through the development of innovative equipment.
- Transfer of knowledge to the Regional Health System for monitoring the adult population.
