The General Management of the Public Healthcare is the competent department in the provision of all public healthcare activities in the Autonomous Community of the Region of Castile and Leon, both in the design of the actions to be carried out, as well as in their development, assessment and update. They have been beneficiaries of projects summoned by public agencies that have been obtained in competitive calls and published in indexed journals in different areas of which the promotion and prevention of health, information systems and health rehabilitation deserve to be highlighted.
Each year, more than 17,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed in Castile and Leon, a community in which the population over 65 represents about 25% of the population, with a growing trend. The interest in participating in this project is mainly based on improving the health of the population of Castile and Leon, promoting biomedical research carried out in the Community and innovating in healthcare.
